Attention, 'il vous plaît.
Here is your French lesson.
Now, un is one, and deux is two,
and trois is three in French.
Quatre is four,
and cinq is five.
That's how they count in French.
Now, deux, trois, quatre, cinq,
you see, is one, two, three, four, five.
So now you cannot fail
to understand my little tale.
There were three little kittens
who lived in France.
They were called Un, Deux,
and Trois.
And these three little kit tens
who lived in France
were known both near and far.
Now they used to go skating,
Un, Deux, and Trois.
It was strange, but very nice to see
those three French kitty cats
go skating on the ice.
They'd put their skates
upon their paws.
Their figure eights
won such applause.
How they'd race across the ice,
chasing imaginary mice,
said the three little kittens.
And aren't we smarter than the rest?
We disagree, said one,
two, three,
that Mama Cat knows best.
Now Mama Cat said,
winter evenings get so cold and dank.
Now you be home by five,
that's five o 'clock, or mama's back.
Oh, but those naughty kittens
soon forgot while playing jokes.
What happened proves that children
just must listen to their folks.
Those kitty cats would twirl and spin,
although the ice was rather thin.
How they'd race across the ice,
chasing imaginary mice.
There was three little kittens,
deux, trois,
but no longer do they prank.
For once a day, the ice gave way.
Un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq.
