Reverend Nicholas
was the deacon
of the Christian children's home.
He kept so many children
that never had a home.
some people call him a saint
for the love that he gave to all the little
The children,
Reverend Nicholas saves.
That night when prayers were said,
And he turned out the lights,
Outside the snow was falling
On that cold winter night.
The children knew that Christ
mas would be here
when night was gone
How would he fill the wishes
of his children by dawn?
St. Nicholas, we all love you,
he heard his children say.
Could it be him they were talking to,
as he turned to walk away?
Or was it Santa Claus,
the tears fell down his face?
Though the candlelight was glowing,
while the children slept in bed
Reverend Nicholas was
at the chapel,
bowing his head
Lord, he said, please hear me,
I'm running out of time
Please help me fill the wishes
of all these kids of mine
At dawn he still was prayin'
when the children all ran in
He heard them laughing loudly
sayin' Santa Claus had been
He couldn't believe the miracle
that his eyes could surely see
Each child's special wishes
Wrapped in line by the tree
St. Nicholas, we all love you
He heard his children say
Could it be him they were talking to
as he turned to look their way?
Or was it Santa Claus,
the tears fell down his face?
