It was never easy,
it always started as tough, as harsh.
For a woman like me to
dream big dreams is to allow the world to
make you feel small.
At least that's a
challenge I faced,
a challenge I overcame.
As a woman I am prone,
I am scared to be
taken advantage of for my looks,
for my vulnerable emotions, for my qualities.
They will do everything in order to get me to sell myself short,
to break me
saying that they made me.
Like snakes hiding in a bou
quet of thorny roses, I
had to be careful, I had to keep myself aware not to
succumb to the doses of toxicity
of their puncturing words,
their venomous lies.
Ready to bury my dreams in the ground which I stand,
ready to rain down their harsh cold
negativity to soak the gown I wear,
headstrong an d full of pride.
The world is hard, the words are harsh,
yet I still dream, yet I still stand.
I hope my story empowers you, as women,
to not give up on your dreams.
That us, as wo men, we have the rights to dream,
to fight for our dream.
Stand your ground.
Do what it takes.
We are women and we have the power
to be empowered to fight
for the life we want to live.
Focus on the voice.
Dismantle the noise.
You have
what it takes to have the life you dream as long as you dream it,
believe it and
work for it. I am
