guy by the name of Ian Hunter.

He was in a band called Mata Hoople in
the 70s.

that I was a Mata Hoople stalker
I used to follow them around everywhere.

But this is a song that Ian wrote

that I think is a beautiful song.
It's called Irene Wild.
It's a song about a guy
that's trying to impress a girl
by being in a rock band.
But she's not impressed by him at all.

and so he goes off to his mother's sitting room,

he writes many songs about her,
one of which he hears on the radio,
and she still is not impressed with him whatsoever. But he

says that if it hadn't been for her messing him up,
that he never would have
gone on to write songs.
So she's the inspiration
for all these songs.
It's a beautiful song.
